Muscle dysmorphia is a disease that consists of being obsessed with muscles. It is important to say that muscular dysmorphia and body-building are not the same, tough many people confuse them. Besides, body-building is a sport and bigorexia is a very serious disease. Normally, these disorders affect men, but women suffer from these problems, too.

In society a lot of people think that the perfect man should have muscles and we laugh if one boy is extremely fat or thin. For instance, we can see it in different films or situation comedies: The Simpsons, Family guy, Steve Urkel… Besides, the actors who use to give life to the heroes are usually are men interested in body-building.

These diseases are very difficult to detect because it is very similar to be the perfect or a healthy man. When we see a person who is doing a lot of sport or eating healthily food we don´t think that he/she is sick. However, bigorexia could have very serious consequences, for instance, eating too much protein, taking anabolic asteroids or even excessive exercising.

As a conclusion, bigorexia has dangerous causes, for instance, depression or serious problem affecting our health. That is why we have to be alert, because the worst cause is sometimes death.
