Are youngsters motivated by obligation? Let´s discuss.
In most of the schools of our country the Government obliges student to read some specific books. But are these books the appropriate ones to learn? Or is it only a cultural tradition?

Nowadays youngsters prefer watch TV that read books, that is why probably in the schools reading books is obligatory. But it is considered that these books are not the appropriate to the young people. Have you ever thought about this type of literature? These books are like Zalacaín el aventurero, Lazarillo de Tormes, Obabakoa, Behi euskaldun baten memoriak… In fact, we think that this is not a good way to motivate to read. Also, there are some teachers that think the same, but they cannot do anything because there is a curriculum to follow from the Government.

The solution to this problem could be to offer a curriculum with more options considering that in the schools there are many differences between the students. They must have the opportunity to choose the literature that they like including different types of books.

By this way, we might get youngsters more interested in reading. Moreover, they will be able to learn things that most of the time TV cannot teach.
